OUR MISSION.

“AND if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noonday.” Isa. 58 : 10.
There are hundreds of poor souls in San Francisco, hungry and terribly afflicted, who need immediate help, and we have thought of an excellent plan in which every person can engage.
We have issued coupon books with one hundred coupons each. Each coupon entitles the holder to one dish of food, and ten of them will pay for a good, clean bed, including a bath.
You can send us one dollar or more, and we will write your name on the book, and then when the hungry and afflicted soul calls for help, we can come to his rescue by using one of your books.
Sabbath-school classes can purchase one or more books, also societies of all kinds. We will keep account of each coupon used and will report to the purchaser of each book as often as requested.
Children can become interested in this grand work. You can get ten persons to give ten cents each, send it to us by post-office order, together with your name and address, so we can write you. Send all money to the treasurer, S. N. Curtiss, care SIGNS OF THE TIMES, Oakland, Cal.
The Mission is rapidly filling up. The Gospel services held each evening are well attended. So far we have held but eight meetings; still twenty-nine men who are tired of living wicked lives have shown a willingness to reform and serve God.
