WORK FOR THE NEW YEAR.

By Emma I. Pardon

Seeking for help from the Saviour, Humbly in reverent prayer, That by His grace He may aid us Every burden to bear; Earnestly searching the Scriptures, As for some hid treasure rare,— Then will God’s Spirit enlighten Each with a glory most fair.
Helping the poor and afflicted, Seeking the lost every day, Cheering the faint and down-trodden, With blessed hope’s glorious ray; Tenderly pointing the fallen Unto the heavenly way,— Thus let us work for the Master; He will our labor repay.
