Crime in the Perilous Last Days

On the evening of January 4 an express train was boarded in Kansas City by two young highwaymen and robbed while it was yet in the suburbs of that great city. It has been fondly hoped and talked that civilization would stamp out all such desperate criminals. But instead we see them increasing both in numbers and daring. The Bible very plainly says “that in the last days perilous times shall come.” And one of the things causing this “peril” is that “evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.” 2 Tim. 3:1, 13. The reader’s better judgment, as he reflects on the condition of the world to-day, must at least awaken in his mind the thought that we are certainly in the “perilous times” of the “last days.”
