God’s Word, the Believer’s Chief Witness

THE Lord's chief witness to a believer is his Word. “What does the Lord say?” is the question which faith asks. The witness in one's self is of worth only as it confirms the witness of God in his Word. When a spirit within or without would suggest or lead contrary to the Word of God, we may know that that spirit is not of God. “To the law and to the testimony; if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no life in them.” Isa. 8: 20.
