A LIVING SAVIOUR.

She stood outside the sepulcher And wept in grief alone, For no one came her heart to cheer And tell where Christ had gone.
E'en then two beings clothed in white Were sitting in the tomb; For Mary they had truth and light; They from above had come.
Then, stooping down and looking in, She saw this heavenly pair, As there they sat where Christ had been, For now He was not there.
To them she told the cause of tears, Then turned herself about, And Jesus took away her fears, For He stood there without.
O soul, art thou in grief to-day, Because thy Lord has gone? Has something taken Him away And thou art left alone?
Then, stooping down, give up thy pride; Angels wilt thou behold; Tho Jesus Christ was crucified, Death's prison could not hold.
Leave sin, and turn thyself about, And, turning, thou shalt see That Jesus lives and stands without With light and truth for thee.
