I CHALLENGED once to prove There's none but Thee. In earth or heaven above To solace me.

But bitter years of pain, Long days of wo, Have made the passage plain I doubted so.

No, none in heaven can feel My spirit's grief, Save He whose love can heal And give relief.

And none on earth can know The path I've trod, Save He who bore my wo, The Son of God.

So whom have I on earth To say forgiven? And who to fill my dearth But Thee in heaven?
