SPOTLESS AS DRIVEN SNOW.

'Twas yestermorn, The sun, on rising, feebly smiled And looked upon this sin-stained earth, Enrobed in purity.
The beauteous snow, With graceful symmetry, had covered As with bridal veil, the scars and blots Erst seen on nature’s face.
Thus forth she stood With beauty unsurpassed, but transient; And thus, my soul, may all your blemishes Be covered with a glorious, eternal garment, Spotless as driven snow.
Christ’s righteousness (How precious is the thought), if we confess; To us is granted, as a cloak, in barter For naught but filthy rags.
Then let us choose Right early to exchange darkness for light, That Christ, the Sun of Righteousness, may see Our character transformed into His likeness, And thus be satisfied.
