A REMARKABLE CAVE.

SOME scientists from Winona, Miss., have investigated a remarkable cave mentioned by Jonathan Carver, one of the first explorers in the northwest. The cave is near Lamoille, 16 miles south of Winona. The entrance is semicircular, 50 feet wide, and at the highest point 20 feet high. There is a large room 100 feet long and about 70 feet wide, the walls of which are covered with Indian hieroglyphics and drawings of animals, birds, and reptiles.
