RETURN UNTO THY REST.

BY JULIA H. DUFFIE.
“RETURN unto thy rest, O my soul; for the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee.” Ps. 116:7.
Return, my soul, unto thy rest, As sparrow seeks its sheltering nest, For bountifully the Lord hath blest Thy humble trust; The simple ones he will preserve, And those brought low, if him they serve, May stay on him each trembling nerve, And find him just.
Gracious and merciful is he, And righteously will deal with thee; Then fear not man’s cold charity, But seek his breast; My soul from death he now doth stay, Tears from my eyes hath wiped away, My faltering feet kept in the way That leads to rest.
