Healdsburg College Fall Announcement

We have just received the “Fall Announcement” of Healdsburg College. The school commences September 23. In addition to the extraordinary facilities for attaining practical education, the very low terms is a matter of surprise. Any one who can pay a half year in advance, can have all the privileges and benefits of the home and college for an average cost of $14 per school month. By paying in advance for the full school year of nine months, this expense is further reduced to $13 per month. A limited amount of labor is furnished in part payment to candidates approved by the trustees. Young men who desire to prepare for the ministry should correspond with Prof. F. W. Howe, president of the faculty. The way will be opened for all who have this desire, to attend the college. Canvassing will be taught throughout the year. A special Bible course will also be conducted during part of the year, for those who can not take a regular school course. This will include, besides Bible study, a short course in history, grammar, physiology, and music. The faculty is nearly the same as last year, excepting that Elder Roderick S. Owen returns to the chair of Biblical History and Exegesis, which he formerly held for a number of years. There never was a time where there was more need of practical education, divested of superfluous so-called “accomplishments,” than the present, and such schools as Healdsburg are the place to get this advantage.
