The Free Man.

The free man believes in freedom for others. It has ever been a characteristic of humanity to claim liberty for one's self; but he who truly loves and knows freedom will claim liberty for the other man. The other man may be his enemy religiously, he may not believe in religion or God, yet the free man will demand freedom for him. The true enlightened Christian is free—made free by Jesus Christ. He believes in freedom for himself, but not less for others; and he knows that the only true freedom there is is freedom for all. To admit the right of the state to deprive one man of freedom on account of his religion is to admit of its right to deprive any man or class of men of freedom in religion. The free man can not be bound in conscience by others; he will not seek to bind others.
