Brother Lewis in Tiptonville Jail

A LETTER from Brother J. W. Lewis, in Tiptonville jail, Tenn., says that the jailer is very kind to him, and he thinks that as a prisoner his condition is unexcelled. He writes that he was only confined in the inner prison for about thirty days. Since that he has been assigned a nice room all to himself, the busiest place he has ever been in, he says. He has something to do or say all the day long. He has access to the main office, and, like Joseph of old, the care of all the prisoners. When the jailer goes away, he leaves everything in the charge of Brother Lewis. Thus it is that God cares for his servants. Christ’s presence can make of a prison cell a palace of glory and a gate of heaven.
