THE BEAUTIFUL REST.

BY LILLA WARREN.
So often we sing of the “sweet by and by,” When the toil and the pain will be past; But so little is said of the rest that is nigh, Of peace now that no trouble can blast.
It is sweet to think of the home of the blest, Of a life that is lovely and fair; But the sweetest to me is the beautiful rest When I cast on the Lord all my care.
Sometimes when our hearts are so lonely and sad, Weighed down with a burden of wo, We seek far for comfort that can not be had, For no earth friend our sorrow can know.
For those who are striving to walk in God’s way Will find here the rest that is sweet, And also that rest, in the soon-coming day, When we all our dear Saviour shall greet.
