Not Appointed to Wrath

Not Appointed to Wrath.—Thus writes one of our readers and contributors, who has suffered much for many years, yet has done faithful work with her pen. “I am going downhill, and this time I think for good. But I am so happy in the Lord that I am living in ‘Beulah land’”—more than content that the blessing of Rev. 14:13 is likely to be mine.” What blessed trust has the child of God in our Lord Jesus Christ! All earthly hope goes out in darkness at the grave; but the Christian’s barque is anchored beyond. Christ has taken away the sin, the “sting of death.” “For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.” Those who may die are not less loved of God. Jesus, “the Son of his love,” died.
