Our Work and Workers.

From the Review we learn that Elder W. N. Hyatt, who but a short time ago went to Keene, Texas, from Nebraska, at the request of the General Conference, died on the 28th ult., of typhoid fever.
Elder John Fulton, formerly of California, who had for some time been sojourning in Colorado, suffering from consumption, has at last been compelled to yield to the dread disease. He died at Boulder, on the 1st inst.
Elder W. H. Saxby reports the baptism of eight persons at Cleveland, Ohio, in addition to a number of interested readers.
The Seventh-day Adventist Educational Society, at the recent annual meeting held at Battle Creek, Mich., elected the following officers: President, W. C. Sisley; Secretary, G. C. Tenney; Treasurer, A. R. Henry; Auditor, I. H. Evans.
Elder Alonzo T. Jones recently returned to his home in Battle Creek, Mich., after a tour of some ten months in Europe. He visited and held institutes at all the principal points where our people have organized representation.
Holding meetings in the mountains of Montana in winter time would usually be deemed an arduous and rather discouraging undertaking, but Elder J. R. Palmer reports that people come from six to nine miles to meetings held on the Cottonwood River.
Elder Allen Moon reports to the Review that at the request of the friends of the District of Columbia Sunday Bill, now before Congress, the committee to whom it was referred granted a hearing on the subject. Strange as it may seem, none of those who had requested the hearing were present, and the opponents of the measure occupied the time; Elder G. E. Fifield made the principal argument.
A new idea has struck some of the enforced-Sunday-rest advocates in Alabama. Brother W. G. Hasty, of Pleasant Plains, has been indicted on a charge of forcing his children to work on Sunday. The children are all members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and have come to years of understanding where they are capable of choosing for themselves in matters of religious conviction. What next? The prophet saw “that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.” Rev. 13:15. The time for such a decree seems to be near at hand. Brother Hasty’s trial is set for April.
