Is It Not a Mistake?

—The editor of an esteemed contemporary, in speaking of hard Sabbath school lessons and how to study them, gives in the midst of his good advice the following wonderful counsel:—
“Read all the books you can find that treat on the subject. After receiving the thoughts of others, take your Bible and ascertain how many of these thoughts you can find in the Scriptures.”
It must be that by some hocus-pocus of type-setting a mistake has been made in expressing the writer’s thoughts. In the lesson printed in the paper containing the above advice it would not be difficult to find a year’s solid reading on the subject. Query: When would the student get to the Bible? And why would it not be best to learn what the Bible said first, and then, if there should be time, consult other works, not to receive many thoughts, but to confirm good ones?
