A LITTLE WHILE.

BY E. J. JOHNSON.
The morn is breaking—time’s dark sinful night Will soon be past, and heaven’s eternal light Dawn upon all who stand for truth and right Firmly, a little while.
Above earth’s warring sounds His voice we hear: “I have overcome, be strong, be of good cheer, For thy deliverance I will soon appear. ’Tis but a little while.”
Then all the mystery of life will be plain, And what we now count loss we’ll see was gain; Then will these weary years of grief and pain Seem but a little while.
Erelong we’ll stand upon the crystal sea With crowns of gold and palms of victory; And may it not enhance our joy that we Suffered a little while?
The warfare o’er, the bright, unending years Will bring us rich rewards for all our fears. Till God’s own hand shall wipe away the tears, ’Tis but a little while.
