FOR THE SIGNS OF THE TIMES: We pitched our gospel tent in this city over three years ago, antagonized by Rome, and from the day we entered Rome has felt our labors. The priests of the city are forbidding their people from attending the services held in my church, but still they come. At the present a lady who has renounced Romanism takes shelter under my roof, as some of her relatives threaten to kill her. The number of converts during our labors in this city is 84. We ask your prayers that God may aid us in every way to hold up the gospel of Jesus Christ, which is the bulwark and cornerstone of the American nation. Yours in the gospel.
