NEW ENGLAND SANITARIUM.

We understand that during the year ending Nov. 1, 1901, the total enrollment of patients at the South Lancaster (Mass.) Sanitarium was five hundred and ten. They came “from twenty-two States, besides Canada, and Jamaica, West Indies. Fifteen students at the academy are paying their expenses by working in the sanitarium. During the past year they have been forty-eight major surgical operations, and, including others, eighty-five operations, with not a single death. As high as sixty or seventy patients have been in the sanitarium at one time, and it has been necessary to find accommodations for them in the village.”
