After the meeting in Dubuque, mentioned in my last report, I went to Waukon, and held meetings with the church there August 23-25. This was formerly my home church, as we lived near there several years ago. Our meetings were well attended. The members of the church seemed to be of good courage, and the Spirit of the Lord was near to us in our meetings. Six persons were received into the church—two by vote, and four by baptism. I was pleased to see familiar faces, so well known in days of yore, also to form new acquaintances among those who have recently accepted present truth. This church was the former home of Elders E. P. Butler, J. N. Andrews, Geo. J. Butler, C. F. Stevens, and E. W. Farnsworth, and many others who were warm-hearted in the Third Angel’s Message, some of whom have “fallen at their posts,” and now rest, to have a part in the first resurrection.
