There's a Cry in the Wind Tonight

There's a cry in the wind to-night From the lands where the Lord is unknown; While the Shepherd above, in his pitiful love, Intercedes at his Father's throne.

There's a call from the dark, to-night, That haunts the lighted room, From his “other sheep” on the broken steep At the edge of eternal doom.

There's a pain at my heart to-night,— From the heart of God it came,— For I can not forget that he loves them yet, And they've never heard of his name.

There's a sob in my prayer to-night, When I think of the million homes Where never a word for the Lord is heard, Nor a message from Jesus comes.
