"The Sunday Protection Association of Milwaukee, Wis., have completed their organization and laid out their plan of work. Directors have been chosen in three classes of five each, to serve one, two, and three years. The following denominations are represented: English and Holland Presbyterians, English Congregational, English and German Baptists, English, Scandinavian, and German Methodists, the Evangelical Association, and Jews. But seven of the directors speak the English language, and of the thirty-five present at the last meeting of the association, twenty-one were Germans, who declare that their nationality as a class are in favor of keeping the Sabbath [Sunday]. A secretary is to be employed, who shall devote his entire time to the work, and an office is to be established in a central portion of the city, where the committee meetings will be held."
