Sabbath-keepers Arrested.

—The Morning Albertan of November 10 quotes from the Ponoka (Alberta) Herald the following: “A case which is creating considerable interest, and which will serve as a test case, is being tried at Wetaskiwin this week. A party adhering to the Seventh-day Adventist faith has been charged with Sabbath desecration by laboring on Sunday in violation to the Sabbath-observance Ordinance. There has been a considerable amount of discussion as to whether the Adventists should be permitted to engage actively in labor on Sunday.” Always let it be understood that these persons worked six days as did Jesus Christ, and observed the same day that He did. We would not by this imply that there ought to be a human law to protect or compel true Sabbath observance. There ought to be no Sabbath or Sunday law. Religion is a matter of choice and motive, and to seek to compel it is to make men hypocrites, or else to persecute the righteous.
