Philip Clingon Smith, an ex-Mormon bishop, has made an affidavit, in Utah, charging the massacre of a company of emigrants at Mountain Meadow, upon the Mormon militia. The massacre has been attributed to Indians, but Smith swears that it was perpetrated by order of the Mormon authorities.
