To the Churches in the Wisconsin Conference.
By E. R. Gillett
BRETHREN: By the Constitution of the Wisconsin Conference, it becomes the duty of the church clerk to “make a report to the Secretary at the end of each quarter, of the amount they have sent to the Treasurer, or paid to preachers during such quarter.” The Conference year begins July 1. Reports are due Oct. 1 and Jan. 1. Reports are also to be made yearly to the Conference of their standing, their losses and additions, also the amount of S. B. pledge. Some of the churches have complied with the above requirements, while quite a number have not. I write, brethren, to urge you to greater promptness. Let us not be slothful in business. If any have not blanks, send to me, and get what you want. I would say, brethren, if you write on business that requires an answer, be careful to give your name and P. O. address in full. I have quite a number of letters now asking for blanks and information, without giving P. O., or even the County. Some (nearly all) write the name of the church only—this may be the name of your office, and it may not. We want the name of the post-office. E. R. GILLETT, Conf. Sec.
