Explanation of Michigan Periodical Delinquency Payments

Explanation.

1. It will be noticed in this week’s REVIEW that there is a statement implying that the delinquency on our periodicals in Michigan is all paid. It is paid as follows: Some two or three districts raised the money and paid it, so that the bill might be settled with the Publishing Association; but about half of the districts in this State are yet behind on this matter, and are indebted to the tract society for the payment of their proportion, and, strictly speaking, are not entitled to draw books until it is paid.
2. Any district that shall raise more than enough to pay its proportion will receive credit for that amount, as a surplus tract fund. Hence all pledges that are made for that fund are needed, and some districts are still behind. What is true of Michigan is true of other Conferences.
