Northern Pacific Mission.

We have heard from Bro. and sister Van Horn at Dallas City, Washington Territory, one hundred miles up the Columbia River above Portland, Oregon. While detained at Dallas City one week or more on account of low water, Bro. Van Horn spoke in the Methodist chapel, and was being pressed to speak in the Baptist chapel. The people were hearing with deep interest.
The missionaries are doubtless among the friends at Walla Walla at work before this date. A lively interest will be felt in this mission by our people everywhere. We ship a $200 box of books from San Francisco to Wallula, Wash. Ter., the 17th. Last evening we received two responses to our call for $1000 for this mission. One was from sister Bush, of Woodland, Cal., which must have been forwarded the day after receiving the REVIEW containing the call. The other was from five of the Kilgore family at Washington, Iowa, which was ordered as early as two days after receiving the REVIEW. We shall look for showers of just such responses right along. Should more than $1000 be received, the excess shall be applied on the Swedish monthly, and tracts in that language. Please remit in drafts on New York, or in Money Orders, and direct to Santa Rosa, Sonoma Co., Cal.
The amount received up to this date for the Northern Pacific Mission.
