What the Devil Has to Say about Christ’s Coming.
In a report of the sayings of the spirits as given in modern spiritualism, according to a recent exchange, the question is asked, “When may we look for Christ’s coming?” and the spirit answers as follows:— “Behold, we answer, he is with you; and if you look for a personal Christ, that shall come surrounded by legions of angels, attended with glory and honor, such a belief will never ultimate into knowledge. It is but an ignis fatuus gathered from the marshes of your time. Oh, then, turn from within and find the Christ of to-day; look for him in the highway, and find him there—look for him among the lowly, and when the voice of mystery comes to you, do not say he is not there, but go forth to meet him.”
