Why Stand Ye Idle?

“Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right that shall ye receive.” Oh! how glorious the reward, how rich the gifts, awaiting those who go forth clad in the armor of truth, breastplate of righteousness, and helmet of salvation, to gather the perishing into the good Shepherd’s fold. Go then, brethren, and preach the glad tidings of salvation to the perishing. Do not dwell upon your own infirmities, but ever keep in view the sacredness of your mission, and go relying upon the strength of Him who has said, “As thy day, so shall thy strength be.” “He that goeth forth, and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.”
“In his furrowed fields around us, God has work for all who will; Those who may not scatter broadcast Yet may plant it hill by hill.
“Soon life’s springtime will be over, And its autumn days will come, Happy, then, will be those workmen Who have sheaves to carry home.” M. A. Stroud.
