NEW SECT IN INDIA.

A remarkable movement, headed by a native, says The Friend of India, has set in among the people of Eastern Bengal. The leader has a number of followers who read the Scriptures and endeavor to live after the example of the apostles and the early Christians. They are vegetarians, and discard the use of medicine, seeking the cure of sickness by prayer to Christ. Such movements, outside of the church, and mingled as they are with error, show how the gospel influence is growing strong in India, and is awakening men's attention to its truths.
