ENCOURAGING

As our good camp-meeting, held at Eagle Lake, Minnesota, is in the past, I want to say to the friends of the cause everywhere that it was a time of great rejoicing to my heart. To hear the last message proclaimed in its purity, to see the countenances of our beloved Bro. and sister White beaming with hope and courage, and to hear their straight testimony, was truly cheering and encouraging to me. The promptness on the part of the brethren generally in coming to the meeting, and in taking hold of the work, was also encouraging, as were the love and harmony that prevailed. These things were evidence to my mind that the Spirit of the Lord was in our midst to press the truth home to every heart that was trying to seek God. May the Lord direct the dear ones who there started to serve God by keeping all of his commandments.
One thing more I will mention that is very encouraging to me; that is, to see men of talent and influence taking hold of these blessed truths. My dear brethren, my heart is with you in this glorious work. I desire to cast an influence that will have a sanctifying effect, that I may gather with my divine Master, and have a humble place with this dear people. May the Lord help us all to confess and forsake our sins, that we may be prepared when the blessed Lord shall come, so that it may be said unto each one, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant; . . . enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.” HENRY YOUNGS.
