VISIT TO LANSING.

The Camp-Meeting Grounds.

THE MAMMOTH TENT A GRAND PAVILION.

YESTERDAY, the 13th, we took the train for Lansing, to learn further particulars relative to the grounds, the mammoth tent, and the transportation of passengers and their baggage, and returned to-day to make the following statements for the REVIEW, to go out to its Michigan readers in advance of our regular day of publication.
1. The camp-ground is the finest one we have seen in the State of Michigan, and when fully prepared will be very inviting in appearance.
2. We found the Big Tent, 89x120 feet, pitched, and well located. It is the grandest thing of the kind we have seen. It will seat 4,000 comfortably, and will shelter at least 5,000 in case of rain. Our evening congregations will be comfortable the coolest September nights.
3. We were happy to be welcomed into their tent for the night by Brn. Carman, Fargo, King, and Potter, who superintend the preparations for the meeting. They will be ready to receive the brethren with their family tents Monday and Tuesday. They urge that a portion from each church should be on the ground with their tents Monday without fail.
4. We recommend that our brethren from Allegan County pass down on the Lake Shore and Michigan Southern road to Schoolcraft, and pass to Lansing on the Chicago and Lake Huron road. Return tickets, saving fare one way, will be given on the Chicago and Lake Huron road, and efforts are being hopefully made for reduction in fare on the Lake Shore and Michigan Southern. This route avoids the moving of baggage to the Michigan Central road at Kalamazoo, and from it at Battle Creek.
5. Let all remember that the season is late and cool, and that camp life at this season requires winter clothing.
6. There will be but one camp-meeting in the State the present season. This has been centrally located in expectation of a grand rally. Brethren, bring your children and friends to the meeting, praying and expecting that the Spirit of God and the Word of God will convert and reclaim. Mrs. W. and the writer labor under the conviction that we are attending our last full round of camp-meetings, and hope to greet a large delegation from all our churches and scattered ones at the Lansing Camp-meeting.
JAMES WHITE.
