Illinois, Make Ready!

1. PREPARE for the Clinton camp-meeting, by supplying yourselves with church and family tents. Let every church and company, as far as practicable, bring an adequate number of tents to the camp. If you have none, either rent one, or make one yourself, as per directions in this week’s Review. This home-made, double-top, muslin tent will prove to be a good cover; still you can make it with but a very small outlay of means. Make a good tent and come prepared.
2. However, if you cannot supply yourself with a tent, come to the meeting just as freely as though you had one. I shall probably have a number on the ground to rent, and some who have no tents can be accommodated by those who have. These necessities will all be supplied. Be free to come to meeting with, or without, a tent.
3. Come prepared to care for your health. Bring an abundance of clothing for your person, and plenty of bedding. Be comfortable, then you can serve the living God without distraction.
4. Prepare to go to the meeting “on time!” First meeting, Aug. 22. Stay to the close, Aug. 28.
5. Don’t forget your unconverted friends. Bring all you can.
6. Let us each remember our personal needs, and go to the encampment praying to God for his Spirit.
7. Pray the Lord to send us proper ministerial aid. May this meeting prove a success.
