BAPTISM OF JESUS.

From Galilee the Saviour came to Jordan's flowing stream, E'en to his great forerunner, John, to be immersed by him. But John forbade: and said to him, Why comest thou to me? Thou greater art, and I have need to be immersed by thee. He, answering, said, Pray suffer it to be so now; for thus To honor all divine commands my Father wills we must All righteousness fulfill, and so forever in him trust. John suffered him.
