Missionary Work.

An aged brother belonging to the Oakland church expressed to us the greatest pleasure for the privilege of going from house to house where he was invited to explain the prophetic and law of God charts. He always leaves tracts. Several in Oakland and in places near by have embraced the Sabbath by this means. He designs to give himself more fully to this work during the winter months. He takes with him the Health Annual. A thousand devoted men and women are wanted for this important work.
We shall soon issue a series of brief, clear sermons, covering the main ground of our faith and hope, to be read to small assemblies in schoolhouses and private dwellings. Well written sermons well read to the people will do more good than poorly arranged discourses poorly delivered by young preachers.
There is room enough for all to work. All are adapted to some field. God will bless each in his or her proper place. There are persons of experience, strength and ability, who should fill large and important places which others cannot fill. There are small and less important places which others can fill even more successfully than more popular gifts. The harvest is truly large, and calls for all who can labor are increasing. Both men and women can engage in this work. The present winter is the time to do this missionary work. J. W.
