The Biblical Institute at Rome, N. Y.

LEAVING Battle Creek at 2:17, the 18th, we arrived at Rome, N. Y., at 10:55 A. M., the following day, and commenced the exercises of the Institute at 2:30 P. M. We find an earnest, intelligent company gathered for the occasion. Forty-five gave in their names as members at the first meeting; and when all are in who are expected, the class will number about sixty. With one exception, all are from the State of New York. Such an attendance is very encouraging. But what is more encouraging still is, that a larger proportion than usual are of such an age and in such a condition in life that they will be able to devote themselves to the work of the Lord; and this is the object they have in view. Three sessions of one hour and a half each are held each day. Two are devoted to the investigation of Bible subjects, and the other to miscellaneous exercises. The older brethren are much pleased with the prospect.
