LIFE

By Eliza H. Morton

Troubles dark! trials deep! Conflicts fierce! eyes that weep! All tell the strife Of mortal life.
Weary hearts! tired hands! Restless years! shifting sands! And then life's day Doth pass away.
End soon comes! darkness dire! Dead are raised! world on fire! And then doth dawn A brighter morn.
Comfort sweet! naught to fear! Rest and peace! Jesus near! And all for aye, One endless day.
ELIZA H. MORTON.
