Pontiac, Aug. 26.
This is the sixth week of our stay here, yet the interest continues good. Quite a number have already decided in favor of the truth, and others are “almost persuaded.” We hope for a favorable decision from them. In the meantime, we shall labor to build up those who have already taken their stand with us, and try to interest others. Opposition discourses are preached every Sunday, which affords us a good opportunity to review the points already canvassed. Two discourses on the Sabbath question are advertised for next Sunday.
We are of good courage in the Lord.

Greenville, Aug. 30.
Our meetings in the tent at this place will close Sept. 1. It is expected that another full course of lectures will be given in the new church which the brethren have purchased, commencing about Oct. 1. In the interval, regular weekly services will be held. Two years ago the church property, including the rectory, was valued at $3,800. All was obtained for $1,600. The church is lighted with gas, and is centrally and pleasantly located, being just opposite the M. E. church, and in the same block as the first National Bank.
The interest in our meetings still keeps up. On Sunday evening last, our fifty-sixth service, some think five hundred people were out; there were many more than could be seated. The regular weekly attendance is unvarying. A portion of the ministry and the press are exceedingly bitter in their expressions regarding us. Some things said are very favorable. Our friends are quite decided, and the dividing line of sentiment is marked. We have baptism to-morrow. About a dozen are fully with us. Our faith grasps many more. It is only a question of time and earnest labor. The great wall of prejudice against our faith, not against our people, is being dispelled. The subject for next Sunday evening is Spiritual Gifts.
Brethren, still remember the work here.
