The following resolutions were adopted:—
Whereas, We believe that God holds the family and the church responsible for the instruction of the children in the truth of God, and
Whereas, We regard the Sabbath-school an instrument in the church for the proper instruction of the children in present truth, whereby they may become thoroughly established in the faith and be prepared to resist the spirit of infidelity so powerful at the present day, and
Whereas, We believe, by the blessing of God, this work, if faithfully done, will result in the salvation of our children,
Resolved, That we recognize the hand of God in this general movement among S. D. Adventists in behalf of the Sabbath-schools.
Resolved, That we recommend that every S. D. Adventist feel a deep responsibility in building up a school in the church of which he is a member, and that he manifest his interest by his regular attendance as a member of the school, and by aiding in every possible manner those who have been placed in positions of greater responsibility in connection with the school.
Resolved, That it is the duty of all the S. D. Adventist ministers laboring in the cause in this State to inform themselves fully in the Sabbath-school work, and also in regard to the condition of the schools in the churches which they may visit, and to endeavor to place them on a proper basis, so that they may insure the best possible results.
Resolved, That the lessons published at the Office of the REVIEW AND HERALD for the family and the Sabbath-school be uniformly adopted in all the Sabbath-schools of the S. D. Adventist churches in this State.
Resolved, That we recommend that the “Song Anchor,” published at the Pacific Press, be uniformly adopted in the schools as their book of songs.
