HIS PEACE.

If the peace of God be with me, I shall want for nothing more; Though my feet may be weary With my lingering on the shore, If the peace of God be with me, I shall safely journey o’er.
If the peace of God be with me, Though the river may be wide, I shall fear not for its waters As I linger by its side; If the peace of God be with me, I shall safely stem the tide.
If the peace of God be with me, Though the river may be dark, I shall care not for its billows, But be ready to embark; If the peace of God be with me, I am safe within the ark.
If the peace of God be with me— For that peace is broad and free— I shall care not for the waters, Though they hasten to the sea; If the peace of God be with me, They can bear but good for me. —E. Norman Gunnison.
