“Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth.”
Died of consumption, at his residence in Newark, Kendall county, Ill., Sept. 22, 1878, David Barrows, aged 72 years. Father Barrows embraced the third angel's message at the tent-meeting in this place last July. During his sickness he often expressed gratitude to God for the light of present truth. He had used tobacco for many years, but when he saw the purity of the Christian life he put it away and refused to take any stimulant, saying that he “wished to die pure.” He leaves an aged widow and a large circle of relatives and friends to mourn their loss, yet they sorrow not as those that have no hope. Funeral discourse by the writer, from 1 Thess. 4: 13. J. F. BALLENGER.
