DEBATE AT NEW PROVIDENCE, IOWA.

[I HAVE just closed a debate with Eld. D. R. Dungan, of the Disciple church. I had been holding a series of meetings about four miles north-east of New Providence, where quite an interest was manifested, when arrangements were made for the debate.
We held nine sessions, discussing the kingdom, Sabbath, Sunday, and immortality questions. The subjects of the kingdom and the Sabbath were pretty thoroughly discussed, but we were obliged to give up the house to other parties, and were able to hold but one session on the immortality question and none on the destiny of the wicked. I think I can safely say that the truth has lost nothing, but has gained many friends by the debate. Eld. D. is one of their champion debaters, but he felt far behind the expectations of the people in his effort to sustain his positions. M. WING.
