MINNESOTA SABBATH-SCHOOLS!

We see by the Supplement to the Review of 13 that only 162 copies of the weekly Instructor are taken in our Conference. There are about fifty companies of Sabbath-keepers in Conference, and twenty-seven Sabbath-schools have reported a membership of 708 scholars. If all had reported, the number would probably have not been far from 1,200. The schools should have at least 700 copies of Instructor to be distributed among the schools.
We know that times are hard, very hard, but club rates every school ought to be able to obtain an ample supply. You will find the Instructor a great help in Sabbath-schools, in fact it is impossible to be very successful without it; and just think of 50 copies for only $5.00. Brethren of Minnesota, let us all have the Instructor, and also record books, they cost but little and are as necessary as the register to the common school. Those schools that have adopted a regular contribution will find little difficulty in paying for these, and will soon have a fund on hand to meet other necessary expenses.
The treasury of the association is empty and has been. How shall it be supplied? It is recommended by the Board that each school send the State secretary one-tenth of all the contributions received by it. We are willing to write for nothing, but let us have something for stamps and stationery.
