NOT OUR OWN.

Nor in anything we do,—\nThought that's pure, or word that's true,\nSaviour, would we put our trust;\nFrail as vapor, vile as dust,\nAll that flatters, we disown;\nRighteousness is thine alone.
Though we underwent for thee\nPerils of the land and sea;\nThough we cast our lives away,\nDying for thee day by day,\nBoast we never of our own—\nGrace and strength are thine alone.
Native cumberers of the ground,\nAll our fruit from thee is found;\nGrafted in thine olive, Lord,\nNew-begotten by thy word,\nAll we have is thine alone;\nLife and power are not our own.
And when thy returning voice\nCalls thy faithful to rejoice;\nWhen the countless throng to thee\nCast their crowns of victory,\nWe will sing before the throne—\n"Thine the glory, not our own."\n—Dean of Canterbury.
