The Duty of Mental Work

It is just as foolish to expect to have a sound mind without doing mental work, as it is to expect to have a healthy body without taking physical exercise. If God has given you a mind that is capable of doing anything, it is as much your duty to use it as it is to exercise your muscular powers. A man who has a mind and will not use it for some useful purpose, is as much a sluggard as one who lives in poverty because he will not work with his hands to procure the necessaries of life.—Selected.
