Life-Work.

LITTLE by little our work is done, From night till morning, from sun to sun, Thoughts and deeds, Fruit and weeds.
Silently, slowly, they work within Fierce struggles with Satan and with sin, Leaving scars, Iron bars.
Mortal; your acts are measured above, By acts of purity and of love, Short of this, Wretchedness.
Music and dancing; frolic and mirth; All the illusive pleasures of earth, Cannot stay Judgment day.
Work is a failure unless it tends To give us a life that never ends, Joy and bliss, Happiness.
ELIZA H. MORTON.
