GREGORY.—Died at St. Helena, Cal., Nov. 18, of lingering consumption, Prof. W. B. Gregory, aged 29 years and 6 months. The last few weeks of his life he spent in carefully reviewing the past, and confessing all his sins. His mind seemed to derive great consolation from Psalms 147:11: “The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.” This he often repeated with great satisfaction. He came to California in the spring of 1885 with a friend who kindly cared for him during his last sickness. The funeral services were conducted by the writer, Sabbath afternoon, November 20, and we laid him away to rest for a “little while,” until the Life-giver shall appear. J. N. LOUGHBOROUGH.
