THE WEEKLY SENTINEL.

It affords us great pleasure to announce to the army of canvassers, colporters, and city mission workers that the American Sentinel is now issued as an 8-page weekly paper, same size and style as formerly. The subscription price is $1.00 per year. Terms to agents made known upon application to the secretary of your State Tract Society or to this office. We now send out four times as many numbers in a year, and have only doubled the subscription price. All orders taken for the Sentinel at the old rates up to January 30th, 1889, will be honored by us, viz: we will send to the yearly subscriber the weekly Sentinel for six months, twenty four numbers, whereas if we had sent them the monthly Sentinel for one year they would have received only twelve papers. We think the subscriber will be satisfied when he receives double the number of papers and twice the value for which he paid.
All names which you have taken at the old rates for the monthly Sentinel, we would like to have you send in to your State secretary or the proper officer in your Conference by February 3, as we desire to clear up the old orders as soon as possible. If you have set your delivery for books beyond January 30, then send in the names at your earliest convenience, but be sure to state that the subscriptions were taken at the old figures, and it will be all right.
Canvassers and others can immediately commence taking orders for the weekly paper at $1.00 per year. We will allow them a good, liberal commission, as per the new schedule of rates, which can be obtained by addressing as above mentioned. We know that these brethren and sisters must be fed and clothed, and we believe that the laborer is worthy of his hire, especially so when he is engaged in such a noble work as preaching the Third Angel's Message by circulating the weekly American Sentinel.
We can furnish the American Sentinel to individuals and local societies in clubs of ten or more copies at 75 cents a copy per year. Remember that they get four papers a month now instead of one, or a total of 48 numbers a year.
We believe that the American Sentinel can be canvassed for alone at $1.00 a year and give the agent a living, working profit, and we trust to have many more applications for agencies. Receipt books, guarantee cards, sample copies of the paper, etc., furnished free.
For those canvassers who would like to use "Prophetic Lights," paper cover, in connection with the American Sentinel, at $1.50, the publishers will send the 180-page, illustrated, paper-bound book post-paid to the subscriber, thus saving the agent the time, trouble, and expense of going over his territory the second time in order to deliver the book.
Agent's complete canvassing outfit including a sample copy of the illustrated pamphlet "Prophetic Lights," post-paid, for 50 cents, can be obtained either from the State secretary, State canvassing agent, or the American Sentinel, Oakland, Cal.
