LET IN THE LIGHT.

Suppose you were in a dark room in the morning, the shutters closed and fastened, and only as much light coming through the chinks as made you aware it was day outside. And suppose you should say to a companion with you, "Let us open the windows, and let in the light." What would you think if he replied, "No, no, you must first put the darkness out or the light will not enter?" You would laugh at his absurdity. Just so, we cannot put sin out of our hearts to prepare for His entering; we must open and take Him in, and sin will flee. Fling the window open and let Christ shine in.—Dr. Edmond.
