LET HIM SHARE ALL.

Filled with anxiety, And pressed with heavy care, I brought my load to God For him to bear.
Tenderly he lifted The care that did annoy; Instead of mourning, gave The oil of joy.
But lo! the joy just given Began to fade away— Like Jonah's gourd, a thing Of but a day.
So to the Lord I went, And asked the reason why This joy he had given So soon should die.
Then, answering, he said, "Thou broughtest me thy care, But didst not bring the joy For me to share."
With tears of penitence, "Forgive," I cried. "Henceforth both cares and joys We will divide." —London Christian.
